In short. By creating an account you enter into a binding agreement with CureforU and confirm you have read and accepted these Terms together with our Privacy Policy. Treat other members with care, do not share anyone else's health information without their consent, and remember this is a community space — not a medical or emergency service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform. This summary is not itself a term; the sections below are.

01About the Platform

The community app developed by CureforU ("the Platform") provides secure digital community spaces where approved organisations can host members, manage topic-based chat groups, share content, and distribute announcements. The first organisation is KEKS.

The Platform is designed to scale to multiple organisations, each operating under its own rules within this shared infrastructure.

02Account registration

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to register.
  • You must provide your first name, last name, and a valid email address, and create a secure password. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
  • You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • One account per person. Impersonating another user or organisation is prohibited.

03Organisations on the Platform

  • The Platform hosts multiple independent organisations, each with its own space, branding, and rules.
  • Access to an organisation requires either an email invitation from an authorised representative or self-registration via a shared link.
  • Joining an organisation is subject to that organisation's additional terms, accepted separately at the point of joining.
  • Some organisations are limited to specific communities. You must represent your eligibility accurately when joining.

How that processing works in practice is described in the Privacy Policy.

04Health-related & sensitive data

This clause is particularly important. Some communities hosted on the Platform relate to health conditions and patient advocacy. Please read it carefully.

  • In the course of participation, you or others may share information that reveals health status or medical circumstances. This is classified as special category data under GDPR Article 9 and is subject to additional legal protections.
  • Where such data is processed, it will be on the basis of your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 9(2)(a)), which is recorded separately at sign-up and when joining a health-related organisation. You may withdraw this consent at any time via in-app settings or by emailing privacy@cureforU.com. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.
  • Do not share another person's health information on the Platform without their explicit consent.

05Acceptable use

You must use the Platform lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • post content that is unlawful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, or harmful;
  • share another person's personal or medical information without their consent;
  • post misleading or unverified medical claims that could put others at risk;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • engage in commercial solicitation or advertising without written authorisation;
  • attempt to access, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Platform's technical systems;
  • upload malicious software or content designed to interfere with the Platform.

06Your content

  • You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant CureforU and the relevant organisation a limited licence to store, display within the Platform, and process that content solely to operate the service, enforce these Terms, and investigate reports.
  • This licence does not permit CureforU to sell or commercialise your content.
  • You must not post content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Deleted content is removed from active display. Audit copies may be retained for a limited period as set out in the Privacy Policy.

07Moderation

  • CureforU and authorised organisation representatives may review and moderate content for compliance with these Terms.
  • Moderation actions, membership changes, and admin decisions are recorded in an audit log retained for 12 months for security and compliance purposes.
  • Users may flag content they consider inappropriate. Flags are reviewed by the relevant Chat Group Manager, Admin, or CureforU.
  • CureforU may remove content, restrict access, suspend, or terminate accounts where necessary for safety, breach of Terms, legal compliance, or operational reasons. Where practicable, we will provide notice and a reason.

08Third-party services

  • All personal data is stored within the European Union or European Economic Area, or a jurisdiction recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection. Where a processor operates outside the EEA, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses — the current arrangements are set out in the Privacy Policy.
  • CureforU does not sell personal data to any third party.
  • The Platform may use third-party infrastructure to deliver chat functionality. Any such provider is a GDPR-compliant data processor operating under a Data Processing Agreement with CureforU.

09Privacy & your rights

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the GDPR. In summary:

  • We collect registration data (name, email, password hash), profile data, content you post, and operational records (sign-in timestamps, moderation logs, consent records).
  • We process this data to operate the Platform (contract, Art. 6(1)(b)); to meet legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)); and for security and moderation (legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f)). Explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a)) is obtained where required.
  • You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data. Submit requests to privacy@cureforU.com. We will respond within one month.
  • You have the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
  • You have the right to complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données) at www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.
  • In the event of a personal data breach that poses a high risk to your rights, we will notify you without undue delay as required by GDPR Art. 34.

10No emergency or medical service

The Platform is not an emergency service, medical service, or crisis helpline. It is a community communication tool only. If you or someone else needs urgent medical help, contact the relevant emergency services — in Belgium, 112 for emergencies and 1733 for non-urgent medical advice. Do not rely on this Platform in urgent or life-threatening situations.

11Automated decisions

No decisions that significantly affect you are made based solely on automated processing. Automated tools may flag content for review, but all moderation decisions involve human judgement before any action is taken.

12Changes & availability

  • We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
  • The Platform is provided on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may temporarily limit access for maintenance or security reasons.

13Liability

  • CureforU is not liable for content posted by other users.
  • To the extent permitted by law, CureforU's aggregate liability for any claim under these Terms shall not exceed EUR 100 or the total amount paid by you in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater.
  • Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14Governing law

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, unless applicable consumer protection law provides otherwise. Your statutory rights as a consumer or data subject are not affected.

15Contact

Questions about these Terms, or about a moderation decision, go to the contacts below. Urgent safety concerns should also be reported in-app so a moderator sees them first.
